Thanks and Love from The Bikes 4 Life Team

November 2016: Our all star volunteer Angela Poon is in Sierra Leone for 2 months with our newest international project – together with our charity partner Jane Shakespeare and the Fig Tree Children, with support by Caritas International!

June, 2016: Bikes 4 Life’s 3rd major bike project in Uganda was a huge success. Our volunteers (Mike and Ange) spent almost 3 months in Uganda distributing bikes and training locals. They also help set up a bike workshop and training centre. Now its all hands on deck at the Melbourne workshop preparing for a new project in Pakistan with the Akram Foundation!

Nov 5, 2015: We are very excited to announce that we are sending our third container of bikes to Uganda, together with a fully functioning bike workshop! We are holding a paint and pack day in the coming weeks – It will be a Saturday and we will need lot of helpers to pack bikes, count bikes, prep and clean bikes, help with the BBQ, paint the container (which is to become the bike workshop and training centre) and we’d love anyone with experience in photography or video to come and cover the day! – and artists – if you can paint or graffiti, come and help us bring our container to life and put your stamp on it!

It’s always a special memorable day where volunteers, donors, supporters and the like get to reflect on our achievements – and it’s quite incredible to see a year of hard work all packed into a box, locked up, sealed and and ready to be sent across the other side of the world where it will be reborn and help the lives of so many!

The upcoming ‘paint n pack day’ is open to the wider community and we hope you can make it done, even if to just come and say hi and enjoy the day!

The Paint n Pack day is this Saturday the 7th of November from 10am at Visa Global Logistics, 1 Hardie Rd Yarraville. Food and drinks provided.

Please also note with all our bikes being sent, our Melbourne workshop is now empty – we need more bikes for next years projects, so please keep us in mind and help to spread the word!

Cheers and thanks again for your support – Uganda here we come, again!

Volunteer with us

We’re always on the lookout for skilled, short and long-term volunteers for our bike workshop. No experience is necessary, however it’s always welcomed! If you would like to volunteer at our Melbourne warehouse, please contact Angela Poon to register your interest.

All volunteers need to complete an application form. Click here to download the form.

Donate a bike

To donate a bike to our Melbourne warehouse, simply bring it down to us on any of our collection days. Bikes should be in good working condition. If you are unsure, then send us a pic first and we can assess to see if its suitable. Send to Angela Poon

We are aiming to send approximately 5 containers of bikes per year and are currently looking for partners for our 2016 and 2017 projects.
